Guru Arjan Dev Ji Gurpurab, also known as Parkash Purab, celebrates the birth of the fifth Sikh Guru, who was born in 1563 in Goindwal to Guru Ram Das Ji and Mata Bhani Ji. Observed on 27 Chet in the Nanakshahi calendar (usually falling in April), the day is marked with Akhand Paths, kirtans, and processions, while devotees reflect on the Guru's profound contributions to the Sikh faith. He compiled the Adi Granth (the precursor to Guru Granth Sahib), completed the Harmandir Sahib, and composed the beloved Sukhmani Sahib, inspiring Sikhs to lead lives of devotion, humility, and selfless service.
