Guan Yin Temple or Guan Yin Teng was founded in the year 1937 by Venerable Hui Zhong. The name means pavilion of Kuan Im in Hokkien. Important dates for the temple include the Birthday of Guan Yin, the Birthday of the Jade Emperor, Wesak Day, and the Hungry Ghost Festival which is celebrated annually. Devotees will visit the temple to make offerings to the deities and pray for their well-being. The temple is known for a special ritual to chase away bad enemies (Da Xiao Ren - Hit the Villain) by the Tiger God on the 2nd and 16th day of every lunar month.
