Latar Belakang / Sejarah

It has been 20 years since the establishment of Penang Sungai Dua Yu Feng Chai Ji Dian. The main god of this temple is Guang Ze ZunWang, but it is Ji Gong XianShi (Master God Ji Gong) who comes down to save the suffering. Master God Ji Gong goes down to earth every week, and asks Lim Hock Choon PJK, the pioneer altar benevolent medium master of the temple, to solve problems and worries for the devotees, for 20 years. On the tenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar the temple celebrates the birthday of Master God Ji Gong annually. The temple was founded and established in 2002. At that time, the temple borrowed the Lotus Temple, Green Lane to let devotees come to inquire spiritual consultations for 11 years, until Lim Hock Choon PJK, the pioneer of the altar, found a place to set up his own temple in the Desa Mawar in Farlim in 2013, and then moved out of the Lotus Temple and established the Chai Ji Dian. The Chai Ji Dian was dilapidated back then, but the benevolent altar master worked tirelessly to build it by himself day after day, brick by brick, and it became more and more famous. In addition to relying on the labour of the altar master, there are also many kind hearted devotees and public to support and form a bond, thus that’s the start of the magnificent Chai Ji Dian. As the donations in the Chai Ji Dian became more and more prosperous, the other directors of the temple started to reap where one has not sown and began to spread rumours, as well as often making trouble. The altar pioneer would not entangle and would detach with these unreasonable people, so he moved to Sungai Dua in 2013. Since then, the altar pioneer went to the Jade Temple (Ti Gong Tan) altar to ask approval from the great Jade Emperor to be named as "YU Feng". As “Yu Feng” requires the permission of the mighty Jade Emperor to use the word "Yu Feng". Meanwhile, the great Jade Emperor approved the temple to use it, hence it’s called the Yu Feng Chai Ji Dian. It is registered as the Yu Feng Chai Ji Dian (Persatuan Penganut Dewa Chai Ji Dian Pulau Pinang) under the Jabatan Pendaftaran Pertubuhan Malaysia Negeri Pulau Pinang. The above is the history of Yu Feng Chai Ji Dian. This temple has always adhered to the concept of helping devotees. Master God Ji Gong only wants to help the devotees cum believers to solve their difficulties and problems. Therefore, there’s no division between races, rich or poor, and the temple does not charge any fees for inquiries. He will do his very best whenever help is needed.
