Latar Belakang / Sejarah

Sri Sivasakthi is the village temple for the Hindu community living in Kampung Langkawi, a small village with a mixed population of Malays, Indians, and Chinese. The temple was initially built as a small shrine around 1930 and has been expanded several times since then. The distinctive feature of the temple is its onion-shaped dome which is similar to Muslim mosques, except that it is decorated in the Hindu style.
