The Seventh-Day Adventist Church can trace its root back in the 1920s, when Dr. Earl Gardner opened his first clinic at 108 Muntri Street, which today becomes the Penang Adventist Hospital. Over the years, the congregation had outgrown the size of its existing church building, making it necessary for the church to consider putting up a bigger building. In December 1998, the old church building was demolished, The present new Adventist church building was completed at the end of 1999, allowing it to be occupied on 1 Jan 2000.
