Latar Belakang / Sejarah

As the number of Catholics began to increase in the Seberang Perai Tengah area, it was thought prudent to earmark a piece of land for the purpose of building a Church. Rev. Fr G. Belleville, who had a vision for the Catholics in Perai, began to look for a piece of suitable land and having found one, he convinced the Diocesan authority to purchase the land. In 1986, it was decided to have a chapel cum community multi-purpose hall and the building project started in 1993. SCIC was completed in 1996.
