The Ascension of Our Lord commemorates the bodily ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven in the presence of his disciples, occurring forty days after Easter Sunday. This significant event marks the completion of Jesus earthly ministry and his return to the Father, paving the way for the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. It serves as a central Christian declaration of Christ exaltation and eternal reign.
