St. Philip and St. James, Apostles, are celebrated together in the Western Christian liturgical calendar on May 3. Philip was one of the first disciples called by Jesus and played a notable role in bringing others, such as Nathanael, to Him. James, often identified as James the Less or the son of Alphaeus, was also among the Twelve and became a prominent figure in the early Jerusalem church. Their shared feast day honors their foundational witness and martyrdom for the Christian faith.
