The Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord commemorates the announcement made by the archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would conceive and bear a son by the power of the Holy Spirit, to be named Jesus. Recorded in the Gospel of Luke, this pivotal moment highlights Mary's humble and willing acceptance with her famous response, let it be to me according to your word. Celebrated on March 25th, exactly nine months before Christmas, this day marks the divine incarnation of Christ, celebrating the moment the Word became flesh for the salvation of humanity.
